  2. Calling all cookie experts! If you think you bake a pretty good cookie, then we have the contest for you. This year’s event will host a cookie baking contest for all ages. Contestants will be split-up into two age divisions including: 18 & under and 19 & up.  Cookies must be homemade by the contestant. Prizes will be awarded for the best tasting, best presentation, and most unique in each age division. There are no entry fees, but you must register by September 2 to enter the contest.HeritageFest_Badge

    Saturday, October 1, 2022:  10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

    Cookie Check-In:  9:30 a.m. - Welcome Booth

    Awards:  12:00 p.m. - Main Stage

    Entry Fee:  Free

    Registration Deadline:  September 2, 2022, at 4 p.m.

    $75 Best Tasting (In each division)

    $50 Best Presentation (In each division)

    $25 Best Decorated (In each division)

  13. Rules:
    1. MUST pre-enter.
    2. Entry Fee is FREE.
    3. Only one entry per person. Each winner may only win 1 category. 
    4. Bakers will be split-up into two age divisions: 18 & under and 19 & up.
    5. Cookies will be judged as follows:  Best Tasting, Best Presentation, and Best Decorated in each age division.
    6. You must have prepared your own entry.
    7. You must provide a copy of the recipe. 
    8. This is a blind judging contest, so entries will be assigned a number at the turn-in.  Please do not include any name or address on the cookie container.
    9. Turn-in time will be on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at the Welcome Booth during Benbrook’s Heritage Fest.  Late entries will not be judged.  Winners will be announced, and prizes will be awarded at 12 p.m. on the Main Stage.  You or a representative must be present to receive your award.
    10. Cookies must come in a disposable dish as cookies and the dish will not be returned.  You need to turn in four cookies.
    11. Prizes will be awarded for each age group as follows:  $100 Best Tasting, $75 Best Presentation, $50 Most Unique.
    12. The winning cookies will have their recipes featured in the next City Newsletter.
    13. All judging decisions are final.
  15. RELEASE:

    I have read and agree to abide by the rules and the terms set forth in this entry form.  I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Benbrook Heritage Fest and its volunteers, the City of Benbrook and its staff, and event sponsors, for any damage, loss, theft, or injury resulting in my participation in this event.  I agree to allow the City of Benbrook the use of images, photos, videos, and other promotional materials taken during the event for purposes of promoting the event in this and future years.  I understand that Benbrook Heritage Fest Management reserves the right to excuse me from the contest if I am not conducting myself in a respectful manner or do not follow the rules set forth and will not be allowed to compete next year.
