StormReady Community

StormReady communities are better prepared to notify citizens and save lives from the affects of severe weather through advanced planning, education, and awareness. No community is storm proof, but StormReady practices can help save lives and property.

Weather Policy

The City of Benbrook follows the North Central Texas Council of Governments weather policy, which defines severe weather as a storm with the potential of producing hail at least one inch (1”) in diameter and/or sustained winds in excess of 70 miles per hour. When these conditions occur, the outdoor sirens in Benbrook will be sounded, and CodeRED, a telephone notification system, will be activated to inform citizens of impending danger.
