In 2020, Alfredo Valverde was appointed by Benbrook City Council to fill a vacancy in Place 5. Prior to that, Mr. Valverde served on the Benbrook Planning and Zoning Commission for twenty-three years, as a member and a chairperson. Alfredo and his wife Cynthia have lived in Benbrook since 1988; they have a fur-baby pug named Missy. Alfredo is devoted to his wife and loves his extended family, many of them residing throughout Texas.
Mr. Valverde is a graduate of The University of Texas RGV, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He attended graduate studies in Sociology at the University of Houston. He then attended South Texas College of Law-Houston, where he received a Jurisprudence Doctorate degree. As a licensed attorney in the State of Texas, he worked as a prosecutor for over thirty years and retired from the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office as a Chief of the Intake Department.
Alfredo is active in the community. He has served as the president of the Trinity Estates Neighborhood Association (TENA) for twenty-five years. He has served in the District Advisory Committee to the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD), and has served as a board member for the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA. Mr. Valverde is committed to improving quality-of-life for Benbrook residents.
