To register a company for construction work within the City of Benbrook, an applicant must fill out a Contractor Registration Form and return it to the Building Permits and Inspections Department via email, fax, or in person at City Hall.
A registration application should be accompanied with the following information, depending on the company's nature of work:
New Residential Construction or Remodel
- A copy of the driver's license belonging to the person responsible for the construction.
- Payment of the $100 registration fee.
Commercial Construction
- A copy of the driver's license belonging to the person responsible for the construction.
- Payment of the $100 registration fee.
Electrical Work
- Proof of the company's registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- A copy of the master electrician's Texas State Master Electrician's License.
- A copy of the master electrician's driver's license.
- Payment of the $100 registration fee.
Plumbing Work
- A copy of the master plumber's Texas State Master Plumbing License.
- A copy of the master plumber's driver's license.
- The registration fee is waived for plumbing contractors per SB1354.
HVAC Work
- A copy of the heating and air contractor's Texas State Mechanical License.
- A copy of the licensed HVAC contractor's driver's license.
- Payment of the $100 registration fee.
To perform any other type of construction work within the City of Benbrook, a copy of the driver's license belonging to the person representing themselves as a contractor will be required. Homeowners wishing to perform work on their own property are exempt from licensing with proof of homestead exemption status.
